From the beginning of the Quaker movement, Friends wrote and spoke about their experience of the Light.

Early Friends like George Fox wrote about the Light as something real and powerful that could show people both their darkness and God’s love. Later Friends continued to write about the Light as a source of guidance, comfort, challenge, and transformation.

This 2 page reading is a collection of short writings and quotes from Quaker authors, including Thomas Kelly and George Fox. These passages describe the Light Within, the love of God, and the idea that there is “that of God” in everyone.

As you read these passages, read slowly and reflect on what the Light might mean in your own life.
