Silver Wattle welcomes spiritual seekers from all traditions who may wish to come away for retreat and spiritual renewal. Our facilities include comfortable accommodation, locally grown food prepared just for you, and a library of interest to Quakers and other spiritual seekers. The land on which Silver Wattle sits has a sacred energy and much can be revealed by walking around our 2400 acre property or out onto the lake bed where we have our labyrinth. For those who find nurture in the earth, we have a large kitchen garden and orchards to satisfy your itch to dig. There is a rich diversity of bird life, and kangaroos are daily visitors.
Sojourners are welcome to join resident Quakers in their morning Worship (based on silent waiting) as well as the gentle "Epilogue" gatherings every evening. Although not expected, many guests enjoy making some small contribution to the operation of the place, perhaps sweeping the veranda or pulling a few weeds. Alternatively, you may prefer the silence and solitude available at Silver Wattle.
Silver Wattle feels like another world, but is located just 20 minutes away from Bungendore where there are coffee shops, grocery stores and other amenities. We are located about 40 minutes from Canberra. For those traveling by public transport, we offer a transfer service from Canberra airport and the Bungendore train station.
